2025 Cadillac Optiq: Price, Range, Release & Full Specs

2025 Cadillac Optiq

2025 Cadillac Optiq: according to a statement by General Motors Authority Report News, the 2025 Cadillac Optic will soon be officially unveiled for the US market, with the small electric optic car being slotted as an all-electric subcompact luxury crossover. Optic has been confirmed to respond to many of the US and Canadian markets.

However, General hasn’t released much information about the all-electric crossover beyond a few photos, and it’s worth noting that General Motors will release additional details next year. The 2025 Cadillac Optiq will serve as Cadillac’s entry-level electric car. Also, the Optic will soon be unveiled as the fourth vehicle to join the luxury marque’s global EV portfolio behind the Cadillac Lyric, Cadillac Celeste and Cadillac Escalade IQ.

The 2025 Cadillac Optiq is an electric crossover utility vehicle If the Optiq adopts the Equinox EV’s drivetrain configuration, we’re guessing a standard single-motor setup with a 210-horsepower electric motor powering the front wheels. An optional dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup bumps output to 290 hp. Range estimates in the longest-range configuration can sit somewhere around 300 miles.

Looking ahead, at least one more Caddy EV is expected, perhaps an as-yet-unnamed three-row crossover. It is also expected that the GM BEV3 platform will have the same vehicle architecture that the Lyriq will ride on. Inspiration will be drawn from the GM Ultium battery and GM Ultium drive motor technology. We assume that it will use General Motors’ Ultium battery packs, and it stands to reason that it will ride on the same platform as the Chevy Equinox EV which is a similar size. However, the exact output figures are going to be released very soon.

In a brief announcement Friday, General Motors confirmed the luxury brand Optic as the “entry point to Cadillac’s EV lineup in North America,” sitting below the Lyric. More details will come next year, meaning the Optiq could launch as a 2025 model. Cadillac also announced that it’s changing the model name to an alphanumeric combination like the CT4 in December 2019, but so far it’s only offered one EV in relatively limited volume.

New Optiq 2025 is one of three Cadillac EVs that the brand said will debut in 2023. All three EVs will go into production in 2024, with specific launches varying by market. Also among them could be the 2025 Escalade iQ released this summer. Cadillac’s EV lineup will also expand further with a standard compact SUV called the 2025 Cadillac Optiq.

The Lyric is built at GM’s former Saturn plant in Tennessee. GM has not yet said where the 2025 Cadillac Optiq will be built, but it will likely be built in North America so that the EV tax credit can apply to SUVs and crossovers priced under $80,000.

Today’s lowest-priced Cadillac is the CT4 sedan, starting at around $35,000. But the Lyric, the only Cadillac EV currently sold, costs a lot more. The 2024 Lyriq starts at $59,990 and has an expanded lineup of trim levels and options this year after a limited launch for the 2023 model year. As of availability so far, the 2025 Cadillac Optic will be sold in the United States, China, Canada, and Mexico.
