2024 BMW Alpina Xb7: Price, Features and Specs

Alpina has a knack for making BMW vehicles look even cooler. Except for the odd split headlamps, We’ve always appreciated the tuning company’s products, and we don’t see anything wrong with the 2024 Alpina XB7 that was revealed on Tuesday.

Alpina has generally served as a semi-official tuner for BMWs for more than 50 years while also making them faster. But in March, BMW formalized the relationship by purchasing the Alpina brand’s license. BMW will begin producing Alpina automobiles in-house starting in 2025. The operations of Alpina itself will concentrate on the development of vehicles as well as servicing, parts, and accessories. With this change, BMW will be able to significantly expand the number of Alpinas produced each year from the rate of just a few thousand vehicles.

BMW Alpina Xb7 Features

The redesigned XB7, like the standard X7, has a fresh appearance with split headlamps, an illuminated grille, a front end with noticeable air vents, and a rear end with an Alpina-specific appearance. For the upgraded XB7, Alpina has created unique wheel styles as well. In addition to two basic designs with 21-inch diameters, Alpina also offers a 23-inch variant with its distinctive 20-spoke design. Customers have a choice between all-season run flats and summer performance tires. The new powertrain for the upgraded XB7 is the most prominent announcement. It consists of a newly created mild hybrid system coupled to a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine. The same machine is used in the X7, but Alpina’s version has modifications to numerous cooling systems, including the intercooler for the turbocharging system, as well as an engine management system that is exclusive to Alpina.

A transient boost can be added while under high load conditions by the 48-volt mild hybrid system in addition to the V-8’s top output of 630 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. A quarter-mile ET time of 12.4 seconds, a top speed of 180 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds are all given by Alpina.

Speed, Transmission and Horsepower

The same automatic 8-speed transmission as the X7 powers the engine. However, it has been improved to handle more torque and allow for faster shifts. A limited-slip differential on the rear axle enhances handling in challenging conditions. All four wheels are powered. All-wheel steering, active roll stabilization, and an air suspension with specially tuned dampers for Alpina are all included as standard features. Brembo 4-piston brakes with 15.5-inch front and 15.7-inch rear rotors provide stopping power.
