Tesla Model X 2024 Performance Price and Technology

The Tesla Model X has maintained nearly all of its eye-catching appeal since its debut in 2016, and it still has a relatively limited niche in the automobile industry. The Model X would seem to be the best option for families wishing to switch to electric transportation because it has a range of up to 348 miles according to the EPA, more acceleration than most people know what to do with, and seating for up to seven people. It just so happens that most sports cars can be dusted off in a straight line.

It’s challenging to predict any big modifications for the 2024 Model X based on our crystal ball. For 2021, Tesla updated the infotainment system, gave it a little facelift, and overhauled the interior, which included adding a silly-looking steering wheel. We, therefore, believe that any adjustments, if any, will be in the shape of increased range, improved performance components, or perhaps even a less expensive trim level.

What’s new Tesla Model X

  • Perhaps autosteer will soon be ready for prime time.

  • A member of the 2016 Model X’s initial generation
  • The Tesla Model X hasn’t lost much of its eye-catching appeal since it made its debut in 2016, and it still holds a modest niche in the automobile industry. With space for up to seven people, an EPA-estimated range of up to 348 miles (Tesla claims 351 miles), more acceleration than all other people know what to do with, and 20-inch wheels, the Model X would seem to be the ideal electric vehicle for families. A bonus is that most sports cars can be dusted off in a straight line.

Edmunds Expert Rating

Tesla Model X Performance (8.0/10)

How is the Model X propelled? The midsize Model X lives up to the Tesla brand’s reputation as being synonymous with performance. The 670 horsepower and rapid acceleration of the basic Model X are impressive. Even more savage is the 1,020-horsepower Plaid. Before placing your foot down, ensure that you give your passengers adequate notice.

Comfort (8.0/10)

Exactly how cosy is the Model X? The adjustable air suspension, a feature of the larger Tesla models, such as the Model X, considerably enhances ride comfort. Despite having 20-inch wheels and tires that are 45 psi in pressure, the Model X has an excellent capacity for road jolt absorption. This characteristic, along with a cabin that is well-insulated from outside noise, creates a highly comfortable atmosphere.

Interior (8.0/10)

How is the inside? The Model X’s doors are undoubtedly the main story here. The driver’s door opens automatically and may be closed without having to move a muscle (ingenious!). Then there are the back doors, which open like wings (talk starter!) and give unparalleled access to the back seats. In garages and other low-ceilinged areas, however, they can potentially constitute risks.

Technology(7.0/10)

How is the tech? Despite the Model X’s many technological marvels, there are some drawbacks. Bluetooth is a poor substitute for smartphone connection through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which is a major downside. If you have a Tesla data plan or are connected to Wi-Fi, you can use the internet browser while your car is parked to do things like watch Netflix or view YouTube videos.

Storage (8.5/10)

How is the storage? The Model X has fantastic storage. The X is the greatest at moving cargo because it has the largest front trunk in its class, a spacious rear cargo area, and extensive underfoot storage for the five-seat arrangement. The Model X has a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds, though we don’t advise using an EV if you need to move heavy objects over long distances.

Extent and Effectiveness (8.0/10)

How are the efficiency and range? The most recent Model X is less efficient than the average premium EV, with an EPA-estimated range of 348 miles and a consumption of 33 kWh per 100 miles. The Model X, however, is one of the more powerful EVs on the market and is quite huge.

The X includes a standard range of charge cord options, an 11.5-kW onboard charger, a 240-volt SAE converter (for public charging equipment), and a NEMA 14-50 adapter (for use in RV parks). These adapters are all included in the box with the vehicle. Additionally, it is compatible with Tesla’s extensive network of Superchargers, which can make long-distance travel a possibility.

Value (8.0/10)

What is Model X’s value? Even without the aid of a tax credit, the Model X’s pricing is often rather competitive among midsize premium EVs. The Model X’s build quality has increased over the years, although it is still slightly below that of the competition. Although the inside lacks the sturdiness of an Audi, it does have a battery range and performance edge. This is true even though the minimalist design is aesthetically pleasing.

Wildcard (9.0/10)

The Model X is designed to impress. It will astound your passengers with its incredible speed and panoramic windshield, and it will amuse parents waiting in line to pick up their children from school as they cram inside through a falcon-wing door. Due to the X’s theatricals, many SUV enthusiasts have probably switched to EVs.
