The BMW i8 Roadster and BMW i8 Coupe are the high performance hybrid super cars. Roadster i8 starting MSRP: $147000. BMW i8 Roadstar offers a single powertrain. It mates a turbocharged 1.5-liter 3-cylinder gas engine with an 11.6-kWh battery pack and 2 electric motors.

BMW i8 Roadster HorsePower

The trio of power sources combines for a total of 369 horsepower, capable of driving all four wheels.

How-ever, It is not the fastest super-car on the block: The 2023 i8 roadster we tested sprinted from 0 to 60 MPH in 4.1 seconds. The BMW i8 suffers from the same light steering that we’ve criticized in many current BMWs.

BMW i8 Roadster Good and Bad side

The Good: It’s hard to argue with a sports car that can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in four seconds and get the combined equivalent of 69 miles per gallon between its gas engine and battery pack. Still harder when it looks as wild as the i8 does, with its gullwing doors and aquatic predator lines.

Who It’s For: People whose primary reasons for buying a six-figure sports car are more along the lines of showing off on the streets and drawing stares than shooting for lap times or carving up rural B-roads. In other words, probably the majority of people who buy six-figure sports cars.

Used BMW i8 Roadster

The car was just been released last year, so all the offerings are of new examples with barely any miles on the clock over the standard delivery mileage. You can only find i8 Roadsters that cost somewhere between $170,000 and $180,000 depending on the heft of options onboard.

The base price is already big at $164,295 so, really, if you want the i8 Roadster and you aren’t one to wait around for it, as I suggested you should in hope of some steep depreciation in three or four year’s time, just go to a BMW dealership and configure your very own i8 Roadster.
